BSNL STAR Membership Details The government-led telco has launched the BSNL Star membership or the Star plan for Rs 498. In this plan, the subscribers of BSNL will enjoy unlimited local, STD and roaming calls with 30GB data and 1000 SMSes for 30 days. The total validity of this plan will be 365 days. Hence, the validity of the freebies of the plan will be limited to 30 days, whereas the entire plan will be of 365 days. However, what makes the Star membership different is that in this period, whenever the subscribers recharge with STVs like STV 97, they will get a discount. BSNL has noted that the STV 97 will be available to the subscribers for Rs 76, whereas STV 447 will be available to the subscribers for Rs 407. At the moment, the Star membership can be availed only through the Rs 498 prepaid plan. BSNL’s Consumer Centric Moves It is very well known that BSNL has been cash strapped ever since the data tariff war started draining the industry of its financials. The lack of 4G service with the telco led it to the pit of losses which have now widened too much. To counter this, BSNL has been resorting to consumer-centric moves like the introduction of new plans for its subscribers, new benefits, freebies and more.
