Xiaomi Redmi Y3: Cameras As you might be aware of, the Redmi Y series from Xiaomi is aimed at the youth and users who click a lot of selfies. The Redmi Y2 arrived with a 16MP selfie camera, while the Redmi Y3 has a 32MP sensor on the front. With the Redmi Y3, Xiaomi is also introducing AI Beautify 4.0 software feature that helps in tweaking the images further. Also, the phone offers Auto HDR feature and Electronic Image Stabilisation for selfie camera as well. The phone is capable of capturing 1080p videos from the 32MP shooter. Like the Redmi Y2, the Redmi Y3 also comes with dual rear cameras of 12MP+2MP. The 12MP primary camera has a 1.25 micron-pixels and the 2MP sensor captures depth information. The rear camera offers EIS, 1080p video recording at 60fps and AI Scene Detection feature. Also, the MIUI camera app now comes with Google Lens integrated. Xiaomi Redmi Y3: Design and Display Talking about the design, the Redmi Y3 comes with Aura Prism design like the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones. The phone sports a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Dot notch. The screen can get up to 450 nits bright and it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. MIUI 10 on Redmi Y3 also offers Low Blue Light feature to reduce strain on your eyes during the night. The Redmi Y3 features Aura Prism design which produces Dynamic Reflective Effect and comes in three colour options- Elegant Blue, Bold Red and Prime Black. Xiaomi Redmi Y3: Hardware and Software Until now, Xiaomi did not reveal the processor which is used on the Redmi Y3. But at the launch event, the Chinese company confirmed that the Redmi Y3 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC underneath and comes in two variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 632 SoC is the one which we saw on the likes of Honor 8C and Asus Zenfone Max M2. The phone boots MIUI 10 with Android 9 Pie out of the box. The Redmi Y3 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR Blaster on top and a fingerprint scanner is present on the rear side. The phone also comes with software-based 360-degree Face Unlock functionality. Xiaomi has also retained the triple slot from the Redmi Y2; The Redmi Y3 supports two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card slot together. Xiaomi also added P2i nano-coating to the Redmi Y3 like its other smartphones. Xiaomi Redmi Y3: Battery One of the major drawbacks on the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y2 was the 3080mAh battery unit. Xiaomi has used a 4000mAh battery cell on the Redmi Y3, upping the battery capacity by 33%. That said, there are some software optimisations and Xiaomi says a user can stream YouTube for nine and half hours in the Redmi Y3. Compared to Redmi Y2, the Redmi Y3’ standby time has gone up by three days. The Redmi Y3 has a Micro USB port unlike the Redmi Note 7 which as a USB Type-C port.
